Commiphora guidottii, also known as scented myrrh or bisabol, is a tree or shrub species found in Somalia and Ethiopia. Its essential oil, extracted from its gum-resin, has been studied for its potential use in treating wounds. The tree is mainly found in the Ogaden region of Ethiopia and Somalia, and is known as hadi or habakhadi to the locals. It grows in areas with gypsum and in open bushland. While the essential oils and gum resin of C. guidottii have been historically exported from Somaliland, they are considered to be of lower quality compared to those of its sister species, C. myrrha. The shrub is also used to improve the quantity and quality of milk in cows when mixed with their forage.
