Schoepfia arenaria is a rare hemiparasitic flowering plant found only in Puerto Rico. It grows as a small tree and is endemic to the northern coast of the island. It was first collected in 1899 and was later described as a new species in 1907. The plant has no common name in English, but is known locally as "araña" or "spider". It is most similar to other Schoepfia species found in the same region, and shares its habitat with two other species. The plant is considered endangered and is protected by the US government. It is found in five locations on the island, with the largest population on private land in Isabela. Efforts are being made to propagate the species and replant it in new areas.
