Psittacanthus biternatus is a type of mistletoe that belongs to the Loranthaceae family and is native to Brazil, Venezuela, and Colombia. It has broad obovate leaves, circular stems, and axillary inflorescences with red peduncles. The flowers are pollinated by hummingbirds and the fruits are dispersed by birds. It is found in various types of vegetation in Brazil, including the Amazon Rainforest and the Atlantic Rainforest. The species was first described in 1829 and was later reassigned to the genus Psittacanthus. The name comes from the Greek words for parrot and flower, possibly due to its bright colors. The specific epithet, biternatus, refers to the inflorescence which is an umbel of triads, often appearing in pairs.
