Amyema nickrentii is a unique plant belonging to the Loranthaceae family that is native to the Philippines. It is an epiphytic plant, meaning it grows on other plants, and is also hemiparasitic, meaning it obtains some of its nutrients from its host plant. It was discovered in the coastal forests of the Aurora Province and is distinguished from other Amyema species by its whorled leaf arrangement with nine linear leaves per node. This plant was first described in 2013 by Julie Barcelona and Pieter Pelser, and its specific epithet, nickrentii, is in honor of Daniel Lee Nickrent.
