Amyema bifurcata is a unique plant that belongs to the Loranthaceae family and is native to Australia. It can be found in various regions of the country, including Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and New South Wales. This epiphytic plant is known for its distinctive inflorescence, which consists of two or more pairs of flowers with rusty corollas covered in dense intertwined hairs. Its fruit is globular and has a bract that enlarges underneath it. The leaves of Amyema bifurcata are flat in shape. This plant is a hemiparasite, meaning it obtains some of its nutrients from its host plants. It is commonly found on Eucalypt, Angophora, Acacia, and Nitraria species. Amyema bifurcata was first described by Bentham in 1867 and later classified under the genus Amyema by Tieghem in 1894.
