Spiraea salicifolia, also known as bridewort, willow-leaved meadowsweet, spice hardhack, or Aaron's beard, is a flowering shrub native to east-central Europe, Siberia, Mongolia, northern China, Korea, and Japan. It has been widely introduced to other parts of Europe and eastern North America. This plant has been cultivated since the 1500s for hedges and other purposes, but can be difficult to control. There are two accepted varieties of this species, one found in Manchuria and the other found throughout its entire range.
