Rosa sherardii, also known as the northern downy rose or Sherard's downy-rose, is a species of flowering plant in the Rosaceae family. It is a shrub that can grow up to 2 meters tall and is native to cooler regions of Europe. It has also been introduced to Vermont in the United States. This plant thrives in a sheltered area with full sun and well-drained soil. Its compact size makes it a popular choice for gardens, but its grey-leaved form is not commonly found in cultivation.
