Pyrus nivalis, also known as yellow pear or snow pear, is a type of tree in the Rosaceae family found in South-East Europe and Western Asia. Its fruit can be consumed raw or cooked and has a slightly sour flavor. This plant is visually striking and can reach heights of 10 meters and widths of 8 meters. It is resilient and can withstand harsh conditions with minimal water and extreme temperatures. It has the ability to crossbreed with other pear species, resulting in hybrids such as Pyrus austriaca when crossed with Pyrus pyraster.
