Geum talbotianum, also known as the Tasmanian snowrose, is a small perennial herb found only in Tasmania's high rocky areas. It is characterized by broad, wrinkled leaves covered in fine hairs and large white flowers that bloom from December to March. This species is limited to alpine regions in Southwest Tasmania, where it can be found sheltering in rocky crevices. Due to its restricted distribution, G. talbotianum is listed as a rare species and is vulnerable to threats such as climate change, fires, and trampling by outdoor recreationalists. Key locations where this plant can be found include Adamsons Peak, Mt Anne, and the Hartz Mountains National Park.
