Rhamnus glandulosa is a small tree with a gray trunk and leathery evergreen leaves that is native to the islands of Madeira and the Canary Islands. It can grow up to 10 meters tall in ideal conditions and is commonly found in the laurel forest. The tree produces yellow-green flowers and purple-black fruit. While it is an uncommon species in Madeira, it is only present on certain islands in the Canary Islands and is considered vulnerable. It is typically found in mid to high altitudes and is threatened by invasive species, changes in fire patterns, and increasing intensity of fires.
