Pomaderris kumeraho, also known as kūmarahou, is a plant found only in the North Island of New Zealand. Its name comes from the Māori word for shrub and it can grow up to four meters tall. In September, it produces yellow flowers that can create a lather when rubbed with water, earning it the nickname "gumdigger's soap." Kūmarahou has been used in traditional Māori medicine to treat respiratory issues and skin conditions, but there is limited scientific evidence to support these claims.
