Brosimum guianense, commonly known as snakewood, letterwood, leopardwood, or amourette, is a species of flowering tree native to southern Mexico, Central America, Trinidad, and tropical South America. It can grow up to 40 meters (130 feet) tall and its heartwood is highly valued, commanding a price of $30 per kg.
