Celtis timorensis, also known as stinkwood or stinking wood, is a flowering plant found in tropical Asia. It emits a strong odor resembling excrement due to the presence of the compound skatole. In Thailand, it is called "wipe the bottom timber" and is believed to have been used by a legendary king for this purpose. In Sri Lanka, the heartwood of the tree is used in traditional medicine. It can grow up to 25 meters tall and has oblate to oblong leaves with serrated margins. The tree is found in various countries in Asia and can also be found on Christmas Island. It typically grows in drier, seasonal rainforests.
