Celtis conferta subsp. amblyphylla, also known as cotton wood or cotton-wood, is a type of flowering plant in the hemp and hackberry family. It can reach a height of 16 meters and has whitish bark. The leaves are oval-shaped and thick, with a leathery texture and can grow up to 9 centimeters long and 4 centimeters wide. The plant produces small flowers in clusters from November to February and has round, purple fruits that are 4 millimeters in diameter. This subspecies is found only in Australia's subtropical Lord Howe Island and is commonly found in lowland forests. Another subspecies, C. c. subsp. conferta, is found in New Caledonia.
