It is a low-growing, creeping plant with bright yellow flowers. The leaves are divided into three leaflets and the stems are covered in fine hairs. The flowers have five petals and are pollinated by bees and other insects. The plant reproduces by seed and can spread rapidly in moist, shady areas.

Ranunculus reptans is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Ranunculaceae, native to the Subarctic and Temperate Northern Hemisphere. It is a low-growing, creeping plant with bright yellow flowers, divided leaves with three leaflets, and stems covered in fine hairs. The flowers have five petals and are pollinated by bees and other insects. Reproduction is by seed, and the plant can spread quickly in moist, shady areas.
