Ranunculus gormanii, also known as Gorman's buttercup, is a perennial herb found in the Klamath Mountains and southern Cascade Range in Oregon and northern California. It grows in moist areas in mountain forests and meadows, with prostrate stems that can root at nodes in wet substrate. Its leaves are oval-shaped and can grow up to 4 centimeters wide on petioles up to 7 centimeters long. The flowers have shiny yellow petals and numerous stamens and pistils, while the fruit is a cluster of up to 15 achenes. This species is well-adapted to its mountainous habitat and is an important part of the local ecosystem.
