Pulsatilla patens is a species of flowering plant in the family Ranunculaceae, native to Europe, Russia, Mongolia, and China. It is commonly known as Eastern pasqueflower or cutleaf anemone. It was first named in 1753 as Anemone patens and is sometimes still classified under that genus. It is closely related to Pulsatilla nuttalliana, the pasqueflower found in North America. Two subspecies are recognized: Pulsatilla patens subsp. patens and Pulsatilla patens subsp. multifida. In Finland, it is the regional flower of the Tavastia Proper region. It is also culturally significant in Buryatia, Russia and Ukraine.

Germination/Propagation Top

Suggest a correction or add new data!
Sow seeds at 20°C, expecting germination within 3 months without further temperature treatment.
Sow seeds immediately as their viability decreases rapidly, or they best germinate when fresh. If stored, seeds might need temperature cycling and patience to germinate.
