Protea lepidocarpodendron, also known as the black bearded sugarbush, is a species of Protea that is found in the Western Cape of South Africa. It grows between one and two meters tall, with narrowly oblong leaves and oblong flowerheads with a purple-black beard and black hairs below the beard. It typically grows in sandstone, fericrete, and granite soils from Cape Town to Kleinmond. This species is near-threatened.
