Protea aurea subsp. potbergensis, also known as the Potberg protea or Potberg sugarbush, is a unique flowering plant found only in the Potberg region of South Africa. It can reach a height of 5 metres and blooms from May to June. This plant is single-sexed and relies on birds for pollination. It grows in sandy soils at elevations of 200-360m and is adapted to survive fires through its wind-dispersed seeds. Its national number is 90.6.
