Persoonia media is a unique and variable species of flowering plant that is native to eastern Australia. It can grow as a shrub or tree, reaching heights of up to 25 meters. The bark is smooth and the leaves are elliptic to egg-shaped with rolled edges. The plant produces yellow flowers in groups of up to sixteen on a long stem. It was first described in 1830 and is part of a group of closely related species with similar flowers but different foliage. Persoonia media is found in forest areas in southeastern Queensland and parts of New South Wales, and is known to regenerate from seed after being killed by fire. It has a relatively short lifespan of around twenty years.
