Persoonia chamaepitys, also known as the prostrate- or mountain geebung, is a shrub found only in New South Wales, Australia. It has a prostrate growth habit, reaching up to 20 cm in height and spreading up to 2 m across. Its leaves are spine-like and bright green, and it produces small yellow flowers in the summer and autumn. This species was first described in 1825 and is classified in the lanceolata group of the Persoonia genus. It is commonly found in heath or dry sclerophyll forest on sandstone-based soils. The flowers attract bees and wasps, and the fruit is eaten and dispersed by animals. This shrub is killed by bushfires but can regenerate from dormant seeds. While it is sometimes seen in cultivation, it is difficult to propagate. Overall, Persoonia chamaepitys is a unique and attractive plant with interesting ecological interactions.
