Leucadendron rourkei, also known as the Uniondale conebush, is a rare flower-bearing shrub found in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape regions of South Africa. It is part of the fynbos ecosystem and can grow up to 5 meters tall, blooming from December to January. This plant is unique in that it dies after a fire, but its seeds are able to survive and spread through wind dispersal. It has separate male and female flowers and is pollinated by the wind. Its national number is 81.6 and it is known as Uniondale-tolbos in Afrikaans. This shrub is found in the Kammanassie Mountains, Kouga Mountains, and eastern Swartberg, growing on southern slopes in rocky or shale soil at altitudes of 1,370 to 1,700 meters.
