Leucadendron muirii, commonly known as the silver-ball conebush, is a flower-bearing shrub native to the Western Cape of South Africa. It is part of the fynbos and grows to a height of 2.0m, bearing flowers from November to December. The plant is unisexual, with male and female plants reproducing through the activities of small towers. Fire destroys the plant, but the seeds survive and are spread by the wind. It grows in limestone soil at elevations of 0-200m and is known as kruiphout in Afrikaans.
