The leaves are evergreen and the flowers are yellow and cone-shaped. The fruits are also cone-shaped and contain a single seed. The plant is drought-tolerant and can be grown in a variety of soils. It is also a popular ornamental plant, and is used in landscaping and as a hedge.

Leucadendron laureolum, commonly known as golden conebush and laurel leaf conebush, is a species of plant native to South Africa and also cultivated in other regions. It is a large bush that turns bright yellow in the winter flowering season, with evergreen leaves and yellow, cone-shaped flowers. The fruits are cone-shaped and contain a single seed. This drought-tolerant plant can be grown in a variety of soils and is popularly used in landscaping and as a hedge.
