Leucadendron cadens, also known as the Witteberg sunbush, is a rare flower-bearing shrub that is native to the Western Cape region of South Africa. It belongs to the Leucadendron genus and is found in the fynbos biome. The plant is unique in that it dies after a fire, but its seeds are able to survive and are dispersed by rodents. The plant has separate male and female flowers, which are pollinated by wind. In Afrikaans, it is called Witteberg-tolbos. It is mainly found in the Witteberg Mountains, south of Matjiesfontein, and grows on quartzite ridges.
