Banksia repens, also known as the creeping banksia, is a shrub species found in the Banksia plant genus. It is native to the south coast of Western Australia, from D'Entrecasteaux National Park to Mount Ragged. The plant has horizontal stems covered in a velvety fur and large, leathery leaves with smaller lobes. Its cylindrical inflorescences are orange, tan, and pink in color and appear from October to November. The plant is able to resprout after fire and does not require any special treatment for its seeds to germinate. It was first collected by Jacques Labillardière in 1792 and formally described in 1800. It is closely related to five other species in the Banksia ser. Prostratae section, all of which are endemic to Western Australia. Its placement in the Banksia genus is part of a larger classification system created by botanist Alex George in 1999.
