Sporobolus spicatus, commonly known as salt grass, is a type of halophyte that is found in dry regions of Africa, from Namibia to Egypt, as well as in the Mediterranean region, South Africa, and parts of the Middle East and South Asia. This perennial bunchgrass has short, pointed flat leaves and can reach a maximum height of 40 cm. It is easily recognizable by its dark green color and is often found near bodies of water.
