Pleuropogon californicus, also known as annual semaphoregrass, is a type of grass found only in northern California. It can be found in moist woodland and forest areas, such as redwood forests and nearby wetlands. This grass can grow up to 1 meter tall and has an inflorescence with spikelets that resemble semaphore signals. Each spikelet can contain up to 20 flowers and can reach a length of 5 centimeters.
