Panicum urvilleanum is a species of grass native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, as well as parts of South America. It grows in sandy habitats, such as desert dunes, and can reach up to 1 meter tall. Its leaves are hairy and up to 45 centimeters long, and its inflorescence is a branching, spreading panicle up to 35 centimeters long with oval-shaped spikelets covered in downy white or silvery hairs.
