Panicum anceps, also known as beaked panicgrass, is a rhizomatous perennial grass found in the southeastern United States. It can grow up to 1.3 meters tall and has erect blades and a panicle inflorescence. The plant produces an abundance of curved seeds, giving it its common name. It thrives in moist areas like swampland and wet woodlands and is a valuable food source for cattle, horses, deer, and birds. It is also used for revegetation efforts on disturbed land. However, it does not tolerate overgrazing and grows best in moist to wet soils.
