Echinopogon caespitosus, also known as the bushy hedgehog grass or tufted hedgehog grass, is a type of grass that is commonly found in southeastern Australia, particularly in disturbed areas. It was first discovered and described by Charles Hubbard in 1934, after being collected at Katoomba railway station in 1931. This grass can reach a height of 1.5 metres and is easily recognizable due to its dense and bristly head. The name of the species comes from the Latin word for tufted, and there are currently two recognized varieties of this grass.
