Catabrosa aquatica, also known as brookgrass, water whorl-grass, water whirlgrass and water hairgrass, is a semi-aquatic grass found in many parts of the northern hemisphere and in southern Chile and Argentina. It is a member of the Catabrosa genus and is typically found in wet environments such as meadows, stream banks and lake shores. Its name reflects its preference for growing in water-rich areas.
