Juncus uncialis, also known as twelfth rush or inch-high rush, is a small annual herb found in the western United States. It grows in wet environments, particularly vernal pools. The plant forms dense clumps of thin green stems that reach a maximum height of 3-4 centimeters. Each stem bears a single tiny flower with reddish segments that wrap around the developing fruit.
