Juncus oxymeris, also known as pointed rush, is a type of rush that is found in the West Coast of North America, specifically in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California. It typically grows in moist areas such as lakeshores, riverbanks, and moist meadows at elevations ranging from 100 to 2,000 meters. This perennial herb can reach up to 60 centimeters in height and spreads through underground rhizomes. Its leaves are gladiolate, meaning they are flattened with one edge facing the stem, similar to those of Iris or Gladiolus. The flowers of Juncus oxymeris are straw-colored and have lanceolate tepals.
