Juncus dichotomus, also known as forked rush, is a grass-like plant in the Juncaceae family that is native to the Americas but has been introduced to other parts of the world. It is often found in moist areas and is most recognizable in the spring and summer due to its flowers and fruit. However, it can be difficult to identify and is sometimes considered a weed. This species is commonly found in dry sites but thrives in damp soils, and is often found near water sources. It has been reported as invasive in Europe and its management is still unclear. Juncus dichotomus plays a role in preventing erosion and is affected by systemic rusts and smuts. More research is needed to understand its life history and response to disease and other factors.
