Juncus acuminatus, also known as tapertip rush, tufted rush, and sharp-fruited rush, is a rhizomatous perennial herb found in North and Central America. It grows in and around water bodies and can reach heights of up to 80 centimeters. The inflorescence consists of multiple clusters of small flowers, each with pointed segments that can range in color from light reddish brown to greenish. This species is found in a wide range of habitats, from central Canada to Honduras.
