Cyperus rupestris is a species of sedge native to south eastern parts of Africa and a small area of Asia. It was first formally described by the botanist Carl Sigismund Kunth in 1837. It is a perennial plant that grows in moist, shady areas and is often found in riverbanks and along streams. It has long, thin leaves and small, yellowish-brown flowers. It is used in traditional medicine and is also grown as an ornamental plant.
