Carex tristachya, also known as the shiny-spike sedge, is a flowering plant found in various regions of Asia, including China, Korea, Japan, and the Philippines. Its seeds are dispersed by ants. There are two accepted varieties of this plant, with one found throughout its range except for Hainan, and the other found in Japan, Korea, southeast China, and Hainan.
