Carex texensis, also known as the Texas sedge, is a flowering plant that belongs to the sedge family. It is found exclusively in the eastern, central, and southern regions of the United States. The plant typically grows to a height of 10-30 cm and has thin culms that range from 0.5-1 mm in width at the base and 0.4-0.5 mm at the top. Its leaves are green and have a width of 1-1.7 mm, with the widest part being towards the base.
