Carex hildebrandtiana is a perennial sedge that grows in tussocks and belongs to the family Cyperaceae. It is found in central parts of Madagascar and is considered a Vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It was first described by botanist Johann Otto Boeckeler in 1884 and the type specimen was collected in 1881 by Johann Maria Hildebrandt near Betsiléeo.
