Carex acaulis, also known as the small dusky sedge, is a species of sedge native to the Falkland Islands and southern Argentina. It has two flowering spikes, one containing male flowers and the others containing female flowers. It is similar to another species, C. macrosolen, but can be distinguished by its shorter utricles. It was first described in 1826 and is found in wet habitats such as bogs and lake margins. While not listed on the IUCN Red List, it is considered a vulnerable species in the Falkland Islands due to its rarity.
