Pitcairnia xanthocalyx is a plant species found only in Mexico. It belongs to the genus Pitcairnia and has been used to create hybrid species such as Pitcairnia 'Borincana', Pitcairnia 'Mexican Blondes', and Pitcairnia 'Pinot Noir'. These hybrids are a result of crossbreeding with other species, such as Pitcairnia angustifolia, Pitcairnia chiapensis, and Pitcairnia rubronigriflora, and have unique characteristics and features.
