Peperomia viracochana is a plant species belonging to the genus Peperomia. It was first described by William Trelease and was published in 1936 in the book "Publications of the Field Museum of Natural History, Botanical Series 13(2): 105". This species is endemic to Cusco, Peru. Its name, viracochana, is derived from the deity "Viracocha" and was discovered in the temple of Viracocha. This plant is a small herb with a thin, grayish-pubescent stem. Its leaves are elliptic and sub-acute, measuring 2-2.5 centimeters in length and 1.5 centimeters in width when dry. The leaves are venulous, with 3 veins and a pinkish rib, and are pubescent on both sides. The petiole is short, measuring only 5 millimeters and is also pubescent. The plant produces spikes at the terminal or in axillary whorls, with fallen leaves that form a false paniculate. The spikes are 30 millimeters long and 1 millimeter thick, with a pubescent peduncle.
