This plant is native to Venezuela and Colombia and can be found at elevations between 240-1000 meters. It has a smooth stem that grows along the ground and roots at the lower nodes. The branches can reach up to 10 centimeters in length and are 1-3 millimeters thick at the base. The leaves are broad and lance-shaped, with a rounded base and a blunt tip. They are 5-10 millimeters long and 3-4 centimeters wide, with 7-9 prominent veins. The plant has small, translucent glands on the underside of its leaves and lacks hair.
