Peperomia tuerckheimii is a perennial flowering plant that belongs to the Piperaceae family. It was first described by Casimir de Candolle and is primarily found in wet tropical biomes. The species name is derived from Tuerckheim, who collected the first specimens in Guatemala. This plant is endemic to Central America and Mexico, with specimens found in various regions such as Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, and Panama. It has axillary catkins and short, crowded leaves with hairs. The stem is prostrate and stoloniform, and the plant has a distinct pubescence. It is smaller in stature compared to other species in the same genus and has non-cordulate margins.
