Peperomia peruviana is a type of flowering plant found in South America, specifically in countries ranging from Colombia to northern Argentina. It is a geophytic plant, meaning it stores water and reserves in an underground tuber. This allows the plant to survive during dry periods when its above-ground parts, such as leaves, wither away. When it receives more rain, the plant regrows its stalks and leaves on the surface. Peperomia peruviana typically grows at high elevations, ranging from 2,680 to 3,700 meters.
