Pandanus iceryi, also known as "Vacoas," is a species of plant in the Pandanaceae family that is endemic to Mauritius. It is a tall, unbranched tree with bright green leaves that end abruptly and are armed with small white spines. Its unique feature is the pale-colored, oval fruit-head that hangs from the main trunk of the plant. This species is found in dense forests on the island, but its habitat has been largely destroyed. It was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 2004 in the Vallée de Ferney forests. Currently, only a few individual plants remain in the wild, but it is now being cultivated in Mauritius.
