Oxalis glabra, also known as finger-leaf, is a member of the wood-sorrel family and is native to South Africa. It is a low-growing plant with trifoliate leaves that resemble fingers. The flowers are complete and have 5 petals, with a yellow throat and a violet, white, or pink lamina. The plant is found in the southwestern region of Australia and can spread easily through bulbs and stolons. It prefers heavy soils and clay, but can also grow in sandy and laterite soils. While it is often grown as an ornamental flower, it is also considered a weed due to its invasive characteristics. The plant produces oxalic acid, which can be harmful in large amounts, and its leaves have a sour taste due to this toxin.
