Oxalis debilis, also known as large-flowered pink-sorrel or pink woodsorrel, is a perennial herb found in all continents except Antarctica. It is edible, with a zesty lemony flavor, but should be consumed in small amounts due to its oxalic acid content. This plant has become naturalized in many areas, including China where it has two flower morphs and is polyploid. There are two varieties of Oxalis debilis, one with variegated leaves and another with pinkish purple flowers. However, this plant can also be a serious weed and is susceptible to a fungus called Puccinia oxalidis, which causes rust on its leaves.
