Pseudoweinmannia lachnocarpa, also known as rose marara, mararie, scrub rosewood, or red carabeen, is a rainforest tree found in eastern Australia. Its species name, lachnocarpa, comes from the Greek word for "woolly fruit," and its genus name, Pseudoweinmannia, is a reference to its similarity to the genus Weinmannia. Originally described as Weinmannia lachnocarpa in 1874, it was given its current name in 1930. This tree can grow up to 40 meters tall and has a wide buttress at its base. Its leaves are in threes and have noticeable veins, and its flowers and fruit are white and form in August and February to April, respectively. However, germination from fresh seeds is unreliable. Pseudoweinmannia lachnocarpa is typically found in prime rainforest areas with high rainfall in eastern Australia.
